The message came after Monday's summit in Paris, where French President Emmanuel Macron and Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel also participated in the negotiations.

According to Macron, great progress was made during the meeting, including when it came to prison exchange, withdrawal and clarification on cessation of fire. But despite the progress, there were several issues that did not come up with a solution.

- There are disagreements, especially when it comes to the time frame and which will be the next step. We had long discussions about this, Macron said during a press conference after the meeting, according to the AP.

During the meeting, Putin and Zelenskyj will also have agreed on new negotiations within a four-month period.

The war between the two countries has been going on for five years, demanding some 13,000 casualties.
