“The activities of 78 conspiratorial cells of international terrorist organizations whose members planned to carry out terrorist attacks ... attacks on law enforcement officials and other crimes, were stopped,” TASS quoted him as saying.

According to Bortnikov, the activity of members of these cells was recorded in all federal districts of Russia.

According to the head of the FSB, special services and law enforcement agencies continue to make every effort to successfully suppress the activities of terrorists, however, international terrorist organizations do not abandon attempts to form new conspiratorial cells.

Earlier, the Military Court in Moscow sentenced members of the cell of the Islamic State terrorist organization *, created in the Yaroslavl region, to sentences of nine to 15 years in prison.

In September, three IG members received from 10 to 15 years in prison for preparing terrorist attacks on the railway in the Moscow region.
