• National Hearing. The judge extends the investigation of the 'Pujol case' for a year and a half to find more hidden money in Andorra
  • Research: The Pujol invested their hidden fortune in coffee plantations

The police followed the firstborn of the Pujol clan , Jordi Pujol Ferrusola , behind the back of the National Court when the investigation of the family's hidden assets had been prosecuted for more than a year. As recorded in an audio recorded surreptitiously by the commissioner linked to the sewers of the State José Manuel Villarejo , which is held by EL MUNDO, Pujol Junior was spied in Barcelona by the leader of the Tandem operation , currently in pretrial detention for serious corruption crimes such as bribery or embezzlement of public flows.

It was April 2014, the investigation was in the hands of the then judge of the National Court, Judge Pablo Ruz, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor and the Unit of Economic Crime of the Police (UDEF), when Villarejo and the former head of Internal Affairs of the Police Marcelino Martín-Blas commented by telephone of the clandestine follow-ups they made to the eldest son of the Pujol Ferrusola in Barcelona.

In these tapes, Villarejo calls Martín-Blas to ask him if "he is still in Barna" and tell him that "they saw the boy this with a Lamborghini and a parakeet ", in reference to Jordi Pujol Ferrusola. The one who was an undercover agent explains to the former head of Internal Affairs that he has shown a photo to "his cousin", whose identity corresponds to the former couple of the firstborn, María Victoria Álvarez , who collaborated with the Police in uncovering the money that Jordi junior deposited in Andorra, and has told him that the "novieta is Argentina". This is Zulma Dinelli, whom the eldest son of the former president met when he bought the Argentine river freight port of Rosario, when she worked at the Port Authority.

Marcelino Martín-Blas, connoisseur of the image referred to by José Manuel Villarejo, tells him that Argentina "looks great in that photo." Also, both former police officers show their concern that they were seen "on Saturday" in the office "doing something." Then, Villarejo suggests to Marcelino Martín-Blas that "it can be interesting to make a management", also knowing that the Lamborghini brand vehicle is "already identified and such and such".

FOLLOW-UP AS IN KITCHEN

In addition, during the telephone conversation, the leader of Tandem comments to his companion of the Police that he has asked Álvarez to "put the batteries and do some little work", while telling him that "maybe it is good to do some management in El Prat or Barajas to see how Argentina has entered Spain.

This was the clandestine follow-up of Villarejo to Jordi Pujol JrEL MUNDO

There is a circumstance that both José Manuel Villarejo and Marcelino Martín-Blas are currently charged in the Central Court of Instruction number 6 of the National Court for the work of doubtful legality they did when they were active. Villarejo is attributed within the framework of this macrocause dozens of criminal acts, including the irregular espionage and theft of documentation to which they subjected the former treasurer of the Popular Party Luis Bárcenas in full war with his party for the irregular financing of it. In that separate piece, the so-called Kitchen operation , is precisely where Marcelino Martín-Blas is currently being investigated, who was called to testify by Judge Manuel García Castellón last March.

On the other hand, the first-born ex-girlfriend, María Victoria Álvarez, received payments of the reserved funds item for months, managed by the Secretary of State for Security during the stage in which Jorge Fernández Díaz was in charge of the Ministry of Interior , for collaborating in the open investigation at the Hearing against the Pujol clan. Álvarez's confession to UDEF agents, revealing that Jordi Pujol Ferrusola made regular trips to Andorra with "large amounts of money" on "500 euros" bills, was the origin of the macrocause that is still open today at the Hearing against the Pujol

If the result of these follow-ups to Pujol junior shed light on the investigation of the patrimony of the former president's family, it is a fact that, five years later, is unknown because, as this newspaper has been able to know, that surveillance work was never put in knowledge of Justice. Neither Ruz nor the current head of the Central Court of Instruction number 5 of the National Court, Judge José de la Mata , were informed that Commissioner José Manuel Villarejo followed in the footsteps of the eldest son of the Pujol in full instruction of the procedure.

THE PENDRIVE EPISODE

To this murky episode in the investigation of Jordi Pujol Ferrusola is added that of the famous pendrive that the Police tried to sneak into the Hearing and that could ruin the entire cause, when the origin of said documentation is unknown. In fact, on June 9, the former Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DAO) of the Police, Eugenio Pino, and his then subordinate Bonifacio Díez Sevillano will be seated on the bench of the accused of the Provincial Court of Madrid for the obtaining and custody of a USB device that ran the risk of contaminating the entire Pujol summary. They are accused of crimes of prevarication, procedural fraud, false testimony and discovery and disclosure of secrets, although the Madrid Prosecutor's Office has refused to present a statement of indictment against the agents.

In a recording with another chief commissioner, José Manuel Villarejo blamed Marcelino Martín-Blas for "putting" the pendrive in the procedure and trying to "bleach it" through the Method 3 detective agency of Barcelona. Both Pino and Díez Sevillano argued during the investigation of the case opened by the origin of the pendrive that the material stored in that USB device came from Method 3.
