Two major accidents on the A12 towards Utrecht and the A50 at Epe caused many problems on the road on Monday morning. Around Arnhem there is even a traffic infarction. The ANWB reports this.
Around 8.00 am there were almost 1,000 kilometers of traffic jams on Dutch roads. This was due to a large number of accidents throughout the country.
Around 5.30 a truck with sidewalk tiles has been tilted on the A50. The tiles are scattered over the road. Rijkswaterstaat must remove the tiles from the road and then identify and repair the damage to the road surface. According to the ANWB this can take a few hours.
Traffic on the A50 from Arnhem to Zwolle can only be diverted via the emergency lane. Drivers must take into account at least two hours extra travel time.
Accident A12 near Arnhem leads to a considerable delay
Traffic to the Randstad is also greatly hindered by the obstruction. It is very busy on the A1 towards Amersfoort, where the connection is from Stroe.
On the A28 towards Amersfoort, an accident with two cars caused even more problems. An accident on the A12 near Arnhem also causes long traffic jams. Two lanes are closed, so that all traffic to Utrecht is considerably delayed.
Also major problems on A9 and A2
Another major problem is on the A9 at Holendrecht, in the direction of Diemen. Here a head-to-tail collision with six cars around 8:30 am caused a long traffic jam from Badhoevedorp.
On the A2 from Eindhoven to Maastricht, a major accident between Echt and Maastricht-Aachen Airport caused serious problems. Drivers must take into account at least one hour of delay here.
Still a lot of delay on # A50 Apeldoorn <-> Zwolle. Traffic in the direction of Zwolle, traffic at Epe can only be via an emergency lane. After accident with truck, load of sidewalk tiles is cleared. This will take a long time. Long traffic jams in both directionsAvatar
