After a weekend of strike in the transport, Jacques Baudoz, president of Jouéclub, estimates that the sales of its stores fell of 20% in the big cities, and of 7% in province. No worries about the stock: the stores took precautions to avoid the shortage.

For traders, the period is crucial. Two weeks before Christmas, many are afraid of the adverse effects of the transport strike on their turnover. Without trains and with traffic jams, customers may well avoid going to the store.

A problem for the sign Jouéclub, which makes half of its annual turnover in the period November-December. "This weekend, sales fell by 20% in the big cities, and by 7% in the average cities," says Jacques Baudoz, president of the chain of toy dealers.
