A volcano erupted yesterday (9th) from White Island, on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. Tourists visit to see the volcanic crater. It is estimated that 13 people were killed in a sudden eruption yesterday.

Breathtaking tourists get on board.

In the volcano you see behind you, the smoke comes out endlessly.

More than 20 tourists wave their hands off the coast and wait for a tease rescue.

Volcanic eruptions began yesterday afternoon at White Island, east of New Zealand's North Island.

Local authorities say there were 47 tourists on the island at the time of the eruption.

Five people are said to have died and eight people are missing, local authorities say.

The number of rescued so far has reached 31, with three returning home.

At the scene, the smoke from volcanic ash does not subside, making it difficult to search for missing persons.

White Island's second highest level of volcanic alerts were issued, but erupted to a third level as eruptions slowed down.

New Zealand's White Island is a volcanic island located 48 km from the North Island coastline, famous for its volcanic craters.
