In the survey opened today by public prosecutor Rosario Stagnaro, both drivers of the protagonists of the clashes are investigated, a trolleybus and a truck from Amsa, a Milan-based municipal waste company. The accusation is of street murder aggravated by the presence of wounded.

Because of the accident, the babysitter Shirley Ortega Calangi, who was traveling on the ATM bus, line 90-91, directed by a friend, lost her life. According to the first findings, it would have been thrown out of the vehicle after the clash of 8.09 caused by the driver who had burned a red light at high speed.

The public prosecutor has delegated the Local Police to arrange all the investigations necessary to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, which occurred at the intersection between Via Bezzi and Via Marostica, and awaits the results of the toxicological tests. Both vehicles have been seized. The two drivers respond not only to aggravated road murder, but also to injuries caused to the wounded.

The final balance of the violent confrontation, in addition to the dead woman, was 18 bruised, none of them life threatening. The registration in the register of suspects of both drivers is the practice in these cases and does not mean an attribution of responsibility for either of them. What happened, judicial sources warn, "everything has yet to be verified".

Room: if there are responsibilities we take them
On the incident "investigations will be carried out: if there are responsibilities, we will take them," said the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, arriving at the inauguration of the permanent exhibition on Leonardo Da Vinci at the Science Museum. The ATM is the subsidiary of the Municipality that controls the public transport of the Lombard capital. Sala responded with a sharp "no" to the hypothesis that the Atm director general, Arrigo Giana, should resign for the incident: "now I don't understand the cynicism: should Giana resign because one of her drivers might have been wrong?" , Sala rhetorically questioned.

"It is a tragedy that calls us even more to our duty - he added - it is difficult, I would not expose myself and give blame and responsibility, but I asked Atm to tighten even more the controls and the attention on our operators. However, none of us can say the dynamics and unfortunately it was a tragedy ", explained the mayor who recalled going yesterday" to the hospital, just to be close to the victim's partner and sister "; "we are trying to get the daughter from the Philippines in a hurry". From the management of Atm, what explanations are given? "They have to verify what was there, it is useless for us to make assumptions now without being sure of what happened. The driver of the vehicle is still, from what they tell me, in shock I don't believe that today our people have us still spoken and will need to talk to him ".
