The Sharjah Social Services Department confirmed that there are 9 important emergency numbers that society members in Sharjah must know, in order to ensure the preservation of the safety of the elderly and vulnerable groups and those who serve them, and to enable them to communicate easily and conveniently, whether for emergency or regular service cases.

The Social Services Department has launched an initiative to raise awareness of the most important emergency numbers that the citizens and residents of Sharjah must know by printing and distributing them to families, as a kind of pre-emptive precautionary awareness aimed at protecting the vulnerable from risks by developing a systematic response pattern that ensures the protection of different members of society.

The list of emergency numbers that the services department printed and distributed on the homes to include clear vision for the elderly or all who have low vision in the house included the police number (999), the national ambulance (998), the civil defense (997) and the electricity emergency (991) and a line Child Helpline (800700), Home Care Hotline (8007080), Sharjah Municipality Emergency Office (993), Water Emergency (992), and Special Transport for Bedouins) (065584444)
It is worth noting that the department printed and distributed these emergency numbers on A3 size papers and delivered them to 2,200 families, which included 1,000 copies in Sharjah, while 1,200 copies were distributed in Al Hamriyah, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Al Bataeh, Maliha, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al-Hisn.
