The deputy noted that in Russia there really is an inequality in the payment for pedagogical work.

“If the region does not have enough money to support them, the federal budget should help, it has all the possibilities for this. For example, this year the expected surplus of 3 trillion rubles. If the region has opportunities, it sets higher salary rates for teachers, ”he explained.

Smolin recalled that on July 23, the State Duma adopted a special resolution following the results of an extended parliamentary hearing, where it demanded that the base salary of a teacher be at least 70% of the average salary in the region.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education sent proposals to the Ministry of Labor on possible scenarios for increasing teachers' salaries.

On December 6, the Federation Council turned to the Russian government with a proposal to create a common teacher remuneration system, because at the moment, teachers receive different money in the country for the same work.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Boris Chernyshov supported this initiative.
