• Three dead and several injured in a shooting at a military base in Florida

The FBI, the US investigative police, officially identified the attacker at the Pensacola Aircraft Station (Florida), the Saudi Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani , who died from police shooting, and published his photograph in search of information that could help in the investigation.

In the shooting on Friday, three people died - one of them in the hospital and two at the base - and eight were injured and hospitalized.

The Navy identified the three deceased, all belonging to that weapon and students, such as Joshua Kaleb Watson , 23, Mohammed Sameh Haitham , 19, and Cameron Scott Walters , 21.

He was also training at the Pensacola Air Station, more than a thousand kilometers northwest of Miami, the man who fired the shots that ended their lives. The authorities investigate whether he had any connection with terrorist organizations .

The FBI published its photograph along with a message asking whoever has information about him or his activities to call a telephone line enabled for it.

The Pensacola Aircraft Station is still closed except for the essential personnel for its operation and for the families that live there and the Navy has created an emergency center for family assistance.

Escambia County Sheriff David Gordon, whose agents were the ones who "neutralized" the attacker, according to his words, told local press that authorities already know how Alshamrani obtained the firearm used in the shooting, but did not give more information. All research is in the hands of the FBI, he said.

Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz on Sunday defined the shooting as an "act of terrorism" in an interview with Pensacola Channel 3.

"This is not a fact of violence in the workplace, it is not a random murder, it is a premeditated act of terrorism against our country, our military and our territory," he said in an interview this morning.

The shooting has not been officially described as a terrorist attack , but national and local media have published information that suggests that the second Saudi lieutenant could be radicalized.

According to various media, the authorities investigate whether some messages appeared on the networks in his name in which he says that the United States is a nation belonging to the "devil" and criticizes support for Israel, are authentic.

Other information from unidentified officials indicates that the attacker saw videos of mass shootings just before starting shooting at the base and that there are six Saudis detained for questioning.

In Pensacola, vigils and other events in memory of those killed in the shooting have been organized throughout this weekend.
