Here, the aircraft A32 Lansen is lifted into place in Halmstad

The plane has been hidden for over 25 years and the aluminum casing was fragile as paper. When the Flottilj area's comradeship and veterans' association got the issue to renovate the planet, it became a challenge.

- Birds had built nest in the plane. But we wanted the public to see this and took on the project, ”says Thomas Ericsson, the association's PR and communications manager.

Now the plane will once again see the light of day as a roundabout monument and will welcome visitors to Halmstad Airport. During the weekend the plane was put in place on its concrete foundation.

- It blew on the verge of storm and I thought "How will we get the plane on the centimeter-sized bolts?". But it went like a dance, says Thomas Ericsson.

The association has been working on renovating the planet for a year and a half.

- I almost cried when I saw the end result, he says.

On December 14, the official inauguration of the artwork will take place - then an aircraft of the model A32 Lansen will fly over the monument.
