In a new tweet, the US president has criticized the World Bank for giving favors to China, which he does not think is needed. A tweet above all political while trade negotiations between the two countries trample.

" China has plenty of money. And when she does not have one, she creates some. It is with this sarcastic formula that Donald Trump has asked the World Bank to stop lending money to China. With an easy-to-understand argument: this institution is supposed to give loans to the poorest countries, not to the second largest economy in the world.

Why is the World Bank loaning money to China? Can this be possible? China has plenty of money, and if they do not, they create it. STOP!

China does have a $ 50 million loan program for the period 2015-2020. The World Bank has already indicated that for the next five years it will be more selective, but that lending will continue despite requests from the US administration.

Last month, US parliamentarians and researchers also accused Beijing of using part of the funds granted by the World Bank to persecute Uighurs , the Muslim and Turkish-speaking minority in the west of the country, including more than one million members are forcibly locked up in so-called " re-education " camps.

Finally, this controversy comes as the trade negotiations between Washington and Beijing are at worst, to the point that Washington is even considering imposing Chinese products new surtaxes and new tariffs.
