It was whistleblower Abdullahi Hussein who alerted about the torture at the Ogaden prison through video evidence that he smuggled out of Ethiopia. Only now, after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's entry, has Abdullahi Hussein been able to return to Ethiopia and the Somali region of Ogaden.

- They threw the prisoners down the pit. They had to stay there for months without seeing any daylight, says Abdullahi Hussein.

The tributes to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's change work have come from all over the world. But there are also strong political and ethnic contradictions. Next year is the election in Ethiopia. It will be a first test for Abiy Ahmed and his change work.

- Abiy Ahmed played a significant role in the change work. I still remember his first brilliant speech in the Ethiopian Parliament. It came as a shock. He explicitly said that they tortured people in small, dark rooms. It was a confirmation of what we had said all year about ancient Ethiopian dictators, says whistleblower Abdullahi Hussein.
