The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Friday eased Chelsea's recruitment ban on juvenile transfer offenses, reducing it from two to a single transfer window, which had already been served last summer, allowing the club to recruit on January 1st.

"Chelsea is banned from registering new players (...) during a recruitment window, which the club has already served during the 2019 summer recruitment window," the CAS wrote in a statement. This decision is less stringent than that of the Fifa Appeals Commission in early May, which imposed on Chelsea a recruitment ban on two transfer periods, ie until 31 January 2020.
