The United Arab Emirates (UAE), through its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent Authority, traveled a convoy of food aid and mobile medical clinics to relief the population west of Taiz province and remote areas in Hadramout province.

The humanitarian response program is to alleviate the suffering of citizens in both governorates.

The aid included food baskets for all families from villages and communities in Al Barah area to the Galilee area.

Three mobile clinics, with their staff and supplies, took care of the cases.

In Gail Bawazir district of Hadramout governorate, the Commission rushed to provide 200 integrated food baskets weighing 16 tons targeting 1000 individuals with low income and poor families.

The number of food baskets that have been distributed since the beginning of the year of tolerance, 34,644 food baskets targeted 173,220 members of needy families in the province of Hadramout.

Through the Red Crescent, the UAE continues to provide poor and needy families with integrated food assistance, according to a rigorous and renewed survey of all districts and liberated areas of the West Coast.

In mid-last month, the agency launched a major campaign to combat epidemics that have re-emerged on the west coast.

The campaign includes supplying the health sector in the different districts of the Sahel with the necessary medicines and medical solutions and running mobile clinics to remote areas away from the districts' centers.

A number of local and social leaderships in the two governorates expressed their appreciation for the relief efforts being made by the UAE Red Crescent in various levels to help citizens and alleviate their suffering.
