Yesterday, the head of the caretaker government, Saad Hariri, requested financial support for Lebanon from several foreign and Arab countries to secure basic food and raw materials and address the shortage of liquidity. In conjunction with the confirmation of the Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, that the formation of the forthcoming government will help the friends of Lebanon to complete the path of the Lebanon Economic Support Conference "Cedar", France intends to hold a meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon on December 11 to mobilize aid to Lebanon.

In detail, the head of the Lebanese caretaker government sent letters to the leaders of a number of countries to request assistance to Lebanon, by securing credits for import, in order to ensure the continuity of food security and raw materials for production for various sectors. The messages included the leaders of Saudi Arabia, America, France, Russia, Egypt, Turkey, China and Italy.

In a statement to Al-Hariri's media office, it was stated that, as part of his efforts to address the lack of liquidity and secure basic import requirements for citizens, the head of the caretaker government sent letters to the heads and prime ministers of a number of brotherly and friendly countries, asking for assistance to Lebanon to secure credits for import from these countries, including Ensures the continuity of food security and raw materials for production for different sectors. The country is witnessing a liquidity crisis, whose features began months ago, with banks setting a ceiling for obtaining the dollar and gradually reducing it sharply, which caused the exchange rate of the lira, which was fixed on 1507 pounds against the dollar more than two decades ago, to more than 2000 in the parallel market.

And many sectors are facing difficulties in importing basic materials from abroad, as a result of the scarcity in the dollar, and preventing transfers in green currency abroad.

The Lebanese noted the discontinuation of a number of medicines and a significant increase in food prices, in exchange for a significant decrease in their purchasing power.

The Ministry of Health called on the Bank of Lebanon to intervene to provide the necessary sums necessary in dollars to facilitate the import of medical equipment.

For his part, the Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, said yesterday that the formation of the upcoming government will help Lebanon's friends complete the path of the Conference to Support Lebanon's Economy (Cedar) and launch development projects in the country, in light of the continued popular protests. Aoun's statements came during a meeting with a delegation of British financial and investment institutions and the American Morgan Stanley Bank, which he visited in the Baabda Palace headed by Ralph the monk, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic.

Aoun told members of the delegation that "binding parliamentary consultations will take place next Monday, followed by the process of forming the new government, and this will help the friends of Lebanon to complete the course of the Cedar Conference, and launch development projects that have been decided upon."

The President of the Republic assured the delegation that "addressing the economic and financial conditions will be in the priorities of the new government as soon as it is formed," noting that the previous government has accomplished an economic perception, within the plan to revive the Lebanese economy, and convert it from a rentier economy to a productive one.

Aoun's comments came as protests in several areas in eastern, southern and northern Lebanon entered its 51st day in a row, to demand an independent government and fight corruption.

Meanwhile, a European official said yesterday that France has sent invitations to the Paris meeting on December 11th. He added, "It is a meeting to try to mobilize support to help Lebanon deal with the acute crisis it is facing."
