It was early Thursday morning that a young woman was going to her stall when she saw a van parked outside.
- She didn't think much of it. But when she opens the door to the stable she is taken aback by a person. Everything is going so fast, so she does not know if it is a man or a woman, says Christer Fuxborg, the police spokesperson in the West.
The person stabs her in the leg at the same time with some sharp object.
- It may have been a knife, or might as well have been a screwdriver, emphasizes Christer Fuxborg.
The woman managed without serious injuries and was transplanted on site by ambulance staff.
After the assault, the person jumps into the car and flees the scene. Police later received tips on where the van had moved and searched for it by helicopter.
So you are the person on the tracks?
- We hope so. We searched by helicopter and several units that blocked possible escape routes. But we have no suspect at this time, says Christer Fuxborg.
The incident is classified as abuse and attempted theft. The police suspect that the person was there to steal something.
