The proposal is part of a focus on summer courses, and courses in teacher education will be given priority. 18 universities and colleges will be commissioned to organize more courses during June to August. The aim is for students to get a faster way out into working life.

Karlstad University is thus proposed to receive just over 3.6 million and will then give priority to summer courses within the educational science core, Swedish as a second language and sport and health. Already competent teachers should also be able to develop competence by reading additional subject authorizations.

- Now we enable more students to graduate more quickly. We need to get more knowledgeable and competent teachers in Swedish schools, and therefore teacher education is given special priority in this initiative, says Matilda Ernkrans, Minister of Higher Education and Research, in a press release.

The bill must be adopted by the Riksdag in order for the investment to get rid of.
