The Prosecutor's Office has filed a complaint of coercion in the courts of Madrid for the incidents that occurred in the LGTBI Pride demonstration that forced several leaders of Citizens to leave the act. The Public Ministry points out that these constraints occurred with the aggravating "discrimination on ideological grounds." Despite considering that a crime was committed, the Public Ministry requests at the same time the provisional file of the case because the Police have not been able to identify the possible perpetrators.

Criminal investigation proceedings were initiated following a complaint of threats, insults or crimes against fundamental rights presented in the Attorney General's Office by former Cs leader Albert Rivera. Attached to the writing were images of the demonstration, links to videos broadcast on television and social networks.

The Prosecutor's Office explains that the events consisted of insults and threats made by a group of unidentified people against the members of Citizens, the only objective of them abandoning the LGBTI Pride march that took place on July 6. The authors of the denounced events carried banners with messages such as "Ciudavox", "The Pride is not sold", "Capitalism is LGTBIFOBIA", "Subrógate you" and "The tale of Citizen" (in reference to the work The Tale of the Maid ).

The Prosecutor's Office asked the Provincial Information Brigade of Madrid to identify the 15 members of the group that, at 8:00 p.m., broke into the area of the Paseo del Prado where the Citizen representatives were and held a "perfectly organized sitting" ", carrying orange fabrics and banners with messages against political formation.

Although numerous videos and photographs were located, it was "impossible" to identify these people. The Police also did not locate any call in social networks to promote actions against the members of Citizens and concluded that the only reference to parties was observed in a tweet of the COGAM Collective (one of the organizers of the Pride 2019) in which the parties that detailed they had committed to the COGAM decalogue and therefore could participate in the header banner.

Citizens were not on that list of authorized parties, but several of their leaders showed up to the march until they were forced to leave. According to the Prosecutor's Office, they were victims of a crime of coercion that, however, will not be judged for lack of known author. The file is provisional, so the cause could be reactivated if new information appears.
