The massive wave of strikes and demonstrations against the government's pension reform project began on Thursday with strong disruptions in the morning. Even before the demonstrations of the day, the message is sent to the government.

Big traffic jams on the roads of the Paris region and it is of unusual magnitude at this early hour. All those who decided to work this Thursday, December 5 have indeed used their means of personal transport, motorized or not. Trains, subways, buses are stopped or really very few. RATP ensures to put its non-strikers on some essential subway lines.

The Secretary of State for Transport announced the mobilization of some buses called "Macron cars" to cross the Ile de France. A shortage of transport is also to be expected in the big cities of France.

70% of teachers on strike

Rail connections are also very difficult: only 10% of announced TGVs, 20% of regional trains. There are also major disruptions on international traffic with the Eurostar and Thalys lines.

For those who have children, there are no or very few schools open. Around 70% of teachers are on strike indeed. In the medical sector, non-urgent operations are delayed in hospitals.
