In conjunction with the Technology and Recreation Administration conducting an inspection of Halmstad's playgrounds in the fall of 2018, over 300 errors were found which they had to urgently resolve, which proved to be costly. Instead, the decision was to demolish several of the playgrounds.

A hasty decision according to Micael Nilsson (S), Deputy Chairman of the Technology and Leisure Committee, who instead asked to propose the City Council to grant an additional grant of just over SEK 7 million to the Board.

- We have been running surplus for many years in the municipality so the money is there. It costs significantly more to restore a lost playground, he says.

In the clip above you hear what risks he sees when playgrounds have now begun to be demolished in Halmstad and how he thinks the problem would be tackled.
