After being raped, this 23-year-old Indian girl was probably hoping to get justice. But in the early morning on the way to the court, as she walks around her village of Uttar Pradesh, five men spray her with gasoline to burn her alive.

The young woman will then have to walk nearly a kilometer crying for help, before a man sees her and calls for help. The young woman is currently in critical condition. Among her attackers, she manages to recognize the two men she accuses of having raped her.

In March 2019, she had the courage to lodge a complaint against them. For the police, the defendants sought revenge by setting the young woman on fire. One of them had just been released on bail. This terrible aggression comes as the country is still in shock after the murder and rape last week of a 27-year veterinarian in Hyderabad in the south of the country.
