At 16.26 on Thursday, April 11, police received an alert that two inanimate young men were found in a locked basement room in Sätra. Once in place it was found that the two people were dead. The two young men, Hermon Daniel, 18, and his 20-year-old childhood friend, had been murdered the day before. The bodies were found by friends who searched for them.

Now two men, 27 and 28 years old, are being prosecuted for the double murder.

According to the lawsuit, nine shots were fired with two different weapons. The perpetrators should also have matched with the plaintiffs and then persuaded them to go down into the basement room.

- Before the murders, the people were humiliated by the perpetrators forcing them to wear their clothes. They have subsequently been murdered under execution-like forms in a crowded basement room without the possibility of escape, says prosecutor Daniel Insulander.

On June 18, the now charged men were arrested after the police conducted several house searches at several addresses in southern Stockholm. And since then, several people have been questioned but released in the case. The prosecution has been postponed several times as the investigation has been extensive.

Suspects and victims knew each other

Both of the accused men are native to southern Stockholm and have previously had several convictions.

The 27-year-old was already sentenced as a 15-year-old to the youth service for car theft, and since then several convictions have been made regarding, among other things, abuse, drug crimes and robberies.

Since 2007, the 28-year-old has also been convicted of a variety of crimes such as drug offenses, ill-treatment and abuse in court cases. The latest conviction for minor drug crimes came just under a month after another verdict.

Third murder is linked to the double murder

Just a few days after the double murder, another 24-year-old man was shot dead in Sätra. The man was shot indoors in a multi-dwelling house and died from his injuries. According to the prosecutor, this murder is related to the double murder. The prosecutor believes that those now charged with the shooting 24-year-old are guilty of the double murder. As for the murder of the 24-year-old, a preliminary investigation is underway, but no one has been arrested in that murder yet.
