"We will continue to do what we can, and put pressure on people with power."

So, 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg told Reuters news agency as she stepped ashore in Lisbon's port of Portugal to attend the COP25 climate summit in Madrid.

"She's getting more political"

Erika Bjerström, SVT's foreign commentator, believes that Greta Thunberg's presence helps to focus on the Madrid meeting.

- She has a lot of followers around the world, like the Fridays for future movement. What is interesting about Greta Thunberg is that she does not emphasize the individual's choices - she is very political and has become increasingly political, says Erika Bjerström in SVT's Morning Study - and aims to put pressure on business leaders and politicians.

Are the leaders listening to her?

- No, is the short answer. The major conflict that is beginning to be seen now, when even the European Parliament has declared climate emergency, is an increasingly political conflict. The politicians who go to Madrid are also the ones who subsidize the oil and coal companies.
