The US Charge d'Affaires in Sudan, Brian Shockan, inaugurated yesterday evening in the prestigious suburb of Riyadh, east of the capital Khartoum, the first restaurant belonging to the global chain of Kentucky and widely spread from the world.

KFC began arranging for branches in the Sudanese capital Khartoum during the formation of the transitional government, following the popular uprising that toppled the government of ousted President Omar al-Bashir.

According to the site "Bag News" expressed Ambassador Shukan optimistic about the arrival of US investments in Sudan, stressing that the opportunity has become favorable for the entry of US investments in Sudan.

The prices of Kentucky meals in Khartoum range between (450 - 1200) pounds per meal, equivalent to (15 - 22) dollars.

A spokesman for the American company Yam Brands, which owns the chain of Kentucky restaurants, recently told the Sudan Tribune newspaper that the company plans to open three branches in Sudan.
