- The report was a bit surprising given that JO's task is not to examine elected politicians but authorities, he tells SVT.

"Safe working environment"

Ingela Nilsson Nachtweij claims in her notification to JO that the municipal council's decision not to let her meet with the officials alone was in principle to dismiss her as a municipal council. But Niklas Gustafsson does not agree.

- The purpose was not for Ingela to step down, but we took them to secure the working environment for the officials. Many did not manage to meet Ingela in a single room, he says.

Positive to review

Niklas Gustafsson also says that this autumn's turmoil surrounding the former municipal council is being examined by external auditors and that, unlike a JO report, this investigation can better give an answer to whether the municipal board acted correctly.

- We are positive that it is being reviewed, there is nothing to hide, he says.

JO examines state and municipal authorities, as well as government officials. An authority in Sweden is any public body that is not a decisive political assembly, JO writes on his website.
