US President Trump and French President Macron met in London to attend the NATO summit meeting on Monday.

He suggested that the country could take sanctions in terms of customs duties.
In response, President Macron countered, “We are paying what we should pay. NATO is not an alliance of money”.
In addition, President Trump expressed his optimistic view that NATO's relationship with Russia was “doing it well,” President Macron said, “Progress is needed over the conflict in Ukraine.” The difference in position became clear as the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict involving Russia was a prerequisite for improving the relationship.
Before the general meeting of the NATO summit scheduled for the 4th, the turbulence was revealed among the member states, but as Russia and China increased their military presence, Attention has been focused on how NATO can show unity.
Putin President criticized NATO expansion
Russia's President Vladimir Putin pointed out that the number of NATO members increased from 12 at the time of establishment to 29 countries at the Defense Ministry meeting held in Sochi in the south. ”Despite the disappearance of the military alliance Warsaw Treaty Organization, NATO continues to develop.”
After that, he criticized the expansion of NATO again, saying, “When combined with the military costs of NATO member countries, it exceeds 70% of the global military costs.”
