On the morning of August 15, 2019, police and ambulance were alerted to an address in Eksjö. A woman and two children were seriously injured at the scene. Later on the same day, a man could be arrested and he was arrested by Eksjö District Court on August 16, 2019 on probable cause suspected of attempted murder in three cases.
The man is now being prosecuted for attempted murder of the three people and also for rape, theft, abuse and illegal use of identity. The suspect has denied all the deeds.
- The suspect has admitted that he was on the scene but that there were other unknown perpetrators who injured the plaintiffs. During the preliminary investigation we have found no support for this version, says Chamber Prosecutor Kristoffer Clausen at the Prosecutor's Chamber in Jönköping.
