According to the initiative, from 2021, employers will keep on paper hard copies of labor books of only those workers who by the end of 2020 will write a statement. The rest of the books will be handed out, and all new information will be stored electronically.

Earlier it became known about the adoption by the lower house of parliament in the second reading of amendments to the Labor Code and several other laws that introduce electronic labor books in the country.

On September 17, the document was adopted by deputies in the first reading.

Oleg Shein, a member of the relevant State Duma committee, commented on the project in an interview with the NSN.
