“First of all, NATO does not have a list of enemies. Because we do not see any immediate threat to any of our allies, ”Stoltenberg said.

At the same time, he noted that the alliance sees “an increasingly uncertain and unpredictable security environment.”

“Therefore, we are changing our response potential, for example, to cyber threats or in space,” the Secretary General added.

He stressed that Russia is investing heavily in modern military equipment, including nuclear weapons, and the order of world forces, where China’s positions are growing, is also changing.

“We must be prepared for the unknown,” Stoltenburg said.

At the same time, the NATO Secretary General noted that the alliance does not consider Russia as its enemy.

“We do not define Russia in this way,” he said, answering the corresponding question.

Stoltenberg said earlier that NATO countries intend to increase military spending by $ 400 billion by 2024. He called the decision "unprecedented progress."
