Two US prosecutors have launched a new indictment against Jehad Serwan Mostofa, a 37-year-old American man who for more than a decade has been a member of the Islamabad-based Shebab terrorist group based in Somalia. The man has been hunted since October 2009, but the justice has launched a new search to widen the period of the incriminated facts until 2017.

The voice of Jehad Serwan Mostafa comes out of a recording broadcast by the FBI. According to the FBI, Jehad Serwan Mostafa is from California. At age 23, after graduating from a San Diego university, he went to Yemen, then to Somalia to fight Ethiopian forces entering the country. He would have joined the shebabs in 2008 before quickly climbing the ladder.

" For about ten years, Mostafa held positions in the Shebab Explosives Department, his media department and training camps. We believe he will continue to play an active role in the Shebab's terrorist actions until he is arrested, "said FBI Special Agent Erin Westfall.

Five million reward dollars

Jehad Serwan Mostafa was seen in 2011 at a press conference by one of the shebab leaders. It would be in Somalia today, heavily involved in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices, one of the favorite weapons of Islamists. It would work to improve their efficiency.

A reward of five million dollars is promised for any information allowing the capture of this priority target. Attorney Robert Brewer today presents Jehad Serwan Mostafa as the American with the highest position in a foreign terrorist group.
