“Our team at the crime scene found that the explosion was probably caused by a smoke grenade,” Gatot said.
As another representative of the Jakarta police said, this kind of grenade is usually used during the exercises of security officers and they do not pose a serious threat due to low power.
Gatot noted that the smoke grenade could have been accidentally left at the scene of the incident, and added that the public should not exaggerate the magnitude of the incident.
