It was on January 11 last year that an ambulance was alerted to the couple's home in Värnamo when their infants became contactable. The child was first taken by ambulance to Värnamo hospital and shortly thereafter to the county hospital Ryhov. Later the same day the child was taken to the University Hospital in Linköping where the child died the following day.

The police then launched a preliminary investigation into the wrongdoing of another and the parents were arrested on suspicion of the crime.

Natural death

It appeared at the autopsy that the child had a brain haemorrhage and most likely had a congenital malformation of the brain that caused the infant's death. The suspicions against the parents were then written off.

Now the couple wants SEK 100,000 each and writes to the Justice Chancellor that they have been suspended for half a year as murderers. The case received quite a lot of media attention. "No money in the world can replace the hell we suffered," they write.
