What to do about the accident-hit and high-traffic section between Rösan and Forsbäck in Onsala has been a hot issue since 1950.
In the autumn, the announcement came that the Swedish Transport Administration is getting the thumbs up to build the way of the Supreme Administrative Court.

But before they could put the shovel in the ground, it was another thing. The Swedish Transport Administration must be able to show that they have protective measures for the smaller woodpeckers and cubs living next to the planned road. Recently, the message came from the Land and Environmental Court which showed that their actions were not enough, as Norra Halland newspaper was the first to tell.

- The verdict came last Thursday. Exactly how we proceed with this I cannot go into before we analyze it, says Lydia Lehtonen to SVT News Halland.

"We have a clear mission"

The time frame for when construction of the road is to start is 2021. Whether or not the Swedish Transport Administration will appeal the decision is not confirmed at this time.

- We have a clear mission, we will build a new Onsala road and we will do our utmost to get there, says Lydia Lehtonen.
