Ex-MEP MoDem Sylvie Goulard was indicted Friday by the judge in charge of the investigation of allegedly fictitious jobs assistants of MEPs, learned Monday the AFP from judicial source.

Sylvie Goulard has been indicted for embezzlement of public funds after his hearing at the Paris court, according to a judicial source. She had failed to be named in the new European Commission because of this investigation, causing Emmanuel Macron's ire.

Sylvie Goulard was briefly Minister of the Armies in the first government of Edouard Philippe, in 2017, but had not been re-elected in the second government, already because of this investigation.
