“As a result of the accident, 19 people died and at least five were injured,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

A total of 44 people were in the passenger bus that had crashed in the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Emergencies Ministry press service said.

“Previously, there were 44 people on the bus,” the Ministry of Emergencies said, adding that six injured were hospitalized.

According to the carrier, individual entrepreneur Sergey Pnev, the bus had a license for transportation and passed all the necessary technical inspections. Pnev specified that the bus was custom-made.

“There were all licenses, there was insurance, the driver was experienced, the car went through all the procedures according to the technical regulations: technical, medical, regular technical state inspections,” he said.

According to RIA Novosti, employees of the Rostransnadzor went to the scene of the accident, who will find out all the circumstances of the incident.

“After collecting all the necessary information, a decision will be made to conduct an audit,” the department said.
