The government will not stop. On revocation of the concession we will pull straight" . Today I read a surreal letter by Luciano Benetton in which he distances himself from Autostrade. But is it possible? It's ridiculous. Tell me if it is normal that a year and a half after the tragedy of the Ponte Morandi, the man who first got rich behind the Italians by turning a blind eye to the lack of maintenance work by his company, today is improvising in an appeal to peace and good. Against hate campaigns, as he himself said. Why isn't Luciano Benetton going to tell the families of the Ponte Morandi victims? Why did he not spend the same time apologizing? Why didn't he intervene before when expert opinions, investigations and investigations revealed disconcerting details even on a "collapse risk" already communicated years before and ignored by his company? Look at the case, the Benettons raise their voices right now that they feel they can lose their million dollar contracts, obtained thanks to the silence of an accomplice and inadequate political class. There is nothing to do, in front of the dead they turn to the other side, but as soon as you touch the wallet they go crazy. For us the road is drawn. The families of the victims of Ponte Morandi ask and must have justice. We want highway tolls to go into the maintenance of roads and bridges, not in some party crates. The 5 Star MoVement will not stop. The government will not stop. We will pull straight on the withdrawal of the concession.

Benetton: enough hatred against my family
The letter from Luciano Benetton which provoked the foreign minister's harsh reaction was published by some national newspapers. "I find it necessary to clarify a great misunderstanding: no member of the Benetton family has ever managed Autostrade. The Benetton family is a 30% shareholder of Atlantia which in turn controls Autostrade". This is what Luciano Benetton stated in the letter, in which he asks for "seriousness", not "indulgence", while he invites us to stop hatred against him and his family. "I am not looking for justifications - adds the patron of the Venetian family -, but these attacks are absurd", "whoever made a mistake must pay, but the unleashed campaign against our family is unacceptable".

We are the injured party
"The news of these days on omitted checks, on non-renewed failure sensors or false reports - explains Benetton in the letter - strikes us and surprises us in a serious way, in the same way that they strike and surprise public opinion. citizens, as entrepreneurs and as shareholders As the Benetton family, we consider ourselves an injured party, and we certainly assume the responsibility of having contributed to endorsing the definition of a management - he continues - which proved unsuitable, a management that had full powers and the total trust of shareholders and my brother Gilberto who, given his habit of working, surely placed the safety and reputation of the company in front of any other goal. He dreamed that we would be the best in infrastructure ".
