Already in the entrance at the County Museum in Gävle, the smell of cinnamon and ginger hit one. The gingerbread house has pinnacles and towers, it has an open floor plan, lots of decorative windows and extends 3.5 meters above the ground. Magical is a word that describes the building well.

- I think about how last year's house looked and I want it to be different. I never have a theme, but I just go for feeling and desire, says Margareta Persson.

Many weeks of work are behind

This year's gingerbread house has required several weeks of work and 70 kilos of homemade dough and Margareta Persson is suffering a lot before the construction is complete.

- Sometimes you also wake up and have solutions ready. The brain goes on all the time, a bit like a tiring rush, concludes Margareta Persson.
