Trains, buses, schools, garbage collection ... Several million public and private employees are called to strike on December 5 against the pension reform.

The CGT, FO, the FSU and Solidaires took the initiative of an interprofessional strike movement. The CFE-CGC called for demonstrations, with the CFTC leaving its unions free to join the movement.

transport network

The unions of the RATP promise a mobilization "as strong" as September 13, which had put Paris almost stopped. But this time, they call for an indefinite strike.

At the SNCF, three representative unions - CGT-Cheminots, Unsa Rail and SUD-Rail - also launched an appeal for unlimited movement. By filing a warning, the CFDT-Cheminots threatens to strike and hopes for government commitments.

In addition, the CGT, FO and Solidaires call for an indefinite strike from December 5 in the urban and road transport of passengers, goods and funds. A call that also concerns paramedics, movers or taxis.

In the airline industry, three Air France unions, which were particularly established with ground staff, filed notices, but the flight crew unions did not call for a strike.

Education

Most teacher unions (Snes-FSU, Snuipp-FSU, SE-Unsa, Snalc, Solidaires ...) called the 900,000 teachers of the first and second degree to strike.

According to Francette Popineau, general secretary of the Snuipp-FSU (the first primary school union), 10 to 20% of schools already announce that they will be closed on December 5th, and 60% of teachers will be strikers. Teachers have until 48H00 before the day of strike to decide, but it already provides "a movement very followed."

The reception service in schools will be "very complicated because there will be strikers also on the side of non-teaching staff (Atsem), canteen staff and also transport".

High school unions (Fidl, UNL, MNL) joined the movement, as well as student unions like UNEF, in the wake of the mobilizations to warn about student precariousness.

Energy

Three of the four representative unions - CGT, FO and the CFE-CGC-Unsa alliance - call for a strike while the 140,000 electricians and gas companies have their own regime.

Households do not have to fear a power cut, but the CGT calls for cuts in electricity production, cuts in public state buildings (excluding health facilities) of private operators and "companies that lay off ".

fuels

"There are calls to strike in the seven French refineries," says CGT Chemistry, which does not exclude production shutdowns. However, stocks make it unlikely that the pump will run out in the short term.

Waste

The staff of private or public boards responsible for the collection of household waste and their treatment should be strongly mobilized with major movements already planned in Marseille and Montpellier in particular, according to the CGT of the public services.

automobile

The CGT of Renault calls for a strike "with the objective to continue" beyond the 5. The CGT PSA calls the employees to mobilize both against the pension reform "and against the draft of a third agreement of competitiveness "at this manufacturer.

hospitals

In the context of an emergency strike that has lasted eight months, CGT, FO, SUD and the collective Inter-Emergency have relayed the call to strike the 5, but the date is not unanimous in the sector where a day specific action is scheduled for 17 December. The interns are called to strike from 10.

Justice

The National Council of Bars has voted a day "justice morte" for December 5. The lawyers want to defend their "autonomous regime" which, according to them, works "perfectly" and does not cost "a euro" to the state.

The Union of the Judiciary and the Union of French Lawyers, both on the left, also called for a strike, both on pensions and against "poorly designed reform projects that only degrade the public service of Justice".

Police

The Alliance and Unsa unions launched a call for action on December 5 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in all police departments.

Symbolic closure of the police stations, refusal to draft minutes, reinforced controls at airports and tolls: various actions are planned. There is no question of joining the demonstrations, said Alliance Secretary-General Fabien Vanhemelryck on Wednesday, saying it was for the police to "manifest differently".
