In the course of events that have punctuated the life of Chile for weeks, a soundtrack of this social spring has taken shape, bringing up to date the success of the 70s and 80s, in the middle of current hits.

A real "playlist" was formed, resonating in the street and on social networks. It includes the greatest successes of the resistance to the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship (1973-1990) as well as the hits of the rap singer Anita Tijoux or the pop strolls of Mon Laferte.

"El baile de los que sopran" (The ball of those who remain) of Los Prisioneros, Chilean rock band most popular of the last years of the dictatorship, or "El derecho de vivir en paz" (The right to live in peace ), of Victor Jara, singer murdered three days after the military coup of 1973, are launched at full volume from the balconies of the center of Santiago to support the demonstrators.

"Adios general" (General Goodbye) of Sol y lluvia group, another anthem of the 1980s against the dictatorship, is sung in chorus during parades.

The tube of Los Prisioneros was composed in 1986, but his words are taken by the new generation as if the piece had just released: "They really gave to others what is called education / They asked for efforts, they asked for dedication / And for what? To end up dancing and kicking the pebbles ".

On October 25, during a historic mobilization that brought together more than one million protesters in central Santiago, the tube was sung by a part of the crowd while dozens of musicians came to protest with their guitar.

"It is sad to see that it is still necessary to sing this song, the problems are always the same and no solution has been brought in. The cake (of prosperity) can be better distributed", estimated recently in an interview with a local TV, the composer and leader of the group, Jorge Gonzalez, 54 years old.

As a tribute to the pot pie concerts, a traditional form of protest in Chile that has been reviving since the beginning of the crisis, the 42-year-old Franco-Chilean rapper, Ana Tijoux, launched the movement. a refrain summarizing the protesters' demands.

"The Constitution, and the great pardons (in reference to the mild justice with regard to the powerful) / With a fist and a spoon in front of the power / And for the whole State, concert of pans! / Listen, neighbor , more energy / And the barricade? / Give him gas! "says the song became viral on social networks.

The rapper expresses her support for the demonstrators and has not failed to criticize the management of the crisis by the government and the police, accused of multiple violations of human rights.

Even your criticism from pop singer Mon Laferte, 37, who made a splash a few weeks ago at the Latin Grammy Awards in the United States where she appeared in front of topless photographers, with the inscription "In Chile we torture, we rape, we kill. "

Finally, Chile has, of course, regained its emblematic song from the left, which has become a hymn for freedom and oppression far beyond its borders: "El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido" (The united people will not be never defeated).

Recorded in 1970 by the Quilapayun group, it resounds again in force in the streets of the country.
