Nine players and two leaders were on the bus, besides the bus driver. The rest of the team had gone ahead and would join Edsbyn. But the trip came to a dramatic end north of Gävle - when the bus suddenly drove off the road and into the forest.

- The bus kept normal speed, but it was as lame as satan. But we think it is about some form of illness on the driver, says Erik Bowall-Nygren.

"Got to pick up the driver"

He sat at the front of the bus himself, behind the driver.

- I had to unload him when we had crashed with the last tree. I think he's feeling pretty good now, but he's severely shocked, ”says the Silwing-Troja coach.

- I heard how we got out of the road branch, then the bus plowed further down the edge. The edge had such a slope that it is a wonder that the bus did not overturn. The rescuer also said, it was almost impossible. The journey ended with a large spruce.

Despite the huge crash - and the bus being heavily demolished, there were "only" four players who needed to be taken to hospital by ambulance. All did well with minor injuries.

- It ended happily, we had angel guard. The girls managed with less bellic acids. There were some cracked lips that had to be re-stitched and a small back injury. But most of it sits inside the forehead, it is nasty to plow off the road with a large bus.

"No one should be alone tonight"

At 14, the players were on their way home to Stockholm again - in a new bus.

- It was a girl who did not want to get on a bus again, she has booked a train. But this was the fastest way to get home. The focus now is to go home and that no one needs to be alone tonight. In that case, they may accompany me home. Such things can come afterwards, it is important that everyone has someone with them, says the coach.

The match that would be played today against Alfta has been canceled and will be played at a later date. But already next weekend, Silwing-Troja will meet Strand IF in Hudiksvall.

- Then we go past the same place where the accident happened. I can promise that everyone will have a belt then, ”says Erik Bowall-Nygren.
