Cristina Fernández de Kirchner with her daughter Florencia NATACHA PISARENKO

Cristina Kirchner returns to power. What will happen to your daughter, in medical treatment in Cuba after being prosecuted for corruption?

Florencia Kirchner: the Cuban soap opera of the daughter of the former president, Cristina

On December 10 Cristina Fernández (66), widow of Néstor Kirchner, will reign again in Argentina, although without the glare of her two previous enthronements , in 2007 and 2011. This time the band and the presidential staff will formally take them to another Fernandez , Alberto, and she will play the secondary role of vice president. Before he has an appointment at Comodoro Py, which is not a beauty salon, but the seat of federal courts, where cases of corruption that she and her offspring, Máximo and Florencia , are judged. In fact, the young woman, very stressed, will not be at the ceremony.

But now Cristina Fernández will be able to straighten her luck, which began to twist in 2016, when the arrival of President Mauricio Macri unleashed investigations into the previous twelve years of the Kirchnerist monarchy . The investigations have crystallized in eleven proceedings against her , most of them due to corruption. Nothing is missing: fraud in the granting of public works licenses, bribes, bribery ... Their children are listed in two cases, accused of illicit association and money laundering in family hotel companies. And this brings us back to Florence.

The youngest of the Kirchners, 29, disappeared from radar last February. It was her mother who announced in a video, with a trembling voice and background violins, that the young woman was in Cuba in medical treatment and could not appear in court. Thus, by optional prescription, the family saved themselves from posing on the bench in the middle of the electoral campaign.

But what happens to Florence? Of the wired Cuban medical parts it was only clear that he suffered a mild lymphedema, that is, fluid retention. To that was added after posttraumatic stress. According to her mother, she is devastated by the "fierce persecution" to which she has been subjected. The four million dollar embargo that the young woman kept in a safe didn't help, of course.

And it is that Florence, a thin girl with a prominent nose, like her father, is the weak link of the Kirchner clan: she is the only one who does not engage in politics and who has no distress. She opted for bohemian chic. He studied film in New York, did radio feminism and paired with another golden cub of Peronism. They lasted a sigh and had a daughter, whom she raised "without gender stereotypes" but with a babysitter.

Cristina travels frequently to Havana, surrounded by the friendly regime. Some bad tongues say that Florence does not want to see her, and that the president is limited to talking to doctors. Others deny the eldest and ensure that the contact between mother and daughter is continuous, even if it includes frequent reproaches from Florence, distressed by her situation.

No one doubts that Florence is a victim ... of his family. She was 19 when she was placed in the directory of the companies investigated. Yes, of course, he benefited, but it is not possible to think that any criminal strategy was necessary. Cristina has used her to victimize herself too: the Kirchners, she says, suffer a harassment campaign. Now that he has returned to the Government, with guaranteed immunity, the time has come to settle accounts.

Because she will be vice president, but she has the pan for the handle. Alberto Fernández will leave the complicated economic management while he is clearing his problems with Justice. With the control of the legislative power (her son Máximo as spokesman in the Chamber of Deputies, and she as president of the Senate) will have a hand in the election of the members of the Council of the Magistracy, the governing body of the judges. And from the Executive, he will be able to purge the Anti-Corruption Office and the Financial Information Unit, whose president, Mariano Federici, has described the Kirchnerist governments as "kleptocracy" and "illegal organization dedicated to the plundering of the State."

The next chapter will be to see if Cristina's new reign has therapeutic effects on the health of Florencia K.
