Also for your New Year? Shrimp fishing is at its peak in Namibia December 1, 6:17

Starting from the 1st, preparations for the New Year will start, but in Namibia, southwest Africa, fish lobsters, which are popular for New Year's dishes, are at their peak and are exported to Japan.

Namibia facing the Atlantic Ocean is blessed with a variety of marine products, among which lobster is an important export for acquiring foreign currency.

In the southern town of Luderitz, there is a state-owned fishery company that is the only country in the country that is allowed to handle lobsters.

Almost all of the export destinations are in Japan, and relatively small lobsters from Namibia are popular because they can easily fit in a heavy box for New Year dishes, accounting for about 10% of lobsters imported by Japan.

At the processing plant, we selected products with good shape and size for export, and then frozen them with shells.

180 tons are expected to be landed this season, and sales from exporting to Japan are expected to exceed 350 million yen.

Karl Crane, the head of the processing plant, said, “I have better than last year. I am happy to be able to deliver lively things to Japan.”

Innocencio Verde, a company executive, said, “The Japanese market is very important, and lobsters connect the two countries.”
