Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi has sent his resignation to Parliament after two months of protests and after the request to replace the Government launched today by Ayatollah Al Sistani in his weekly sermon.
Yesterday 45 protesters died and almost 1,000 were injured in various protests in Baghdad and the south of the country. Since October the mobilizations demand an end to a corrupt political system.
