A South Korean K-pop star, Jung Joon-young, was sentenced Friday to six years in prison for raping a meeting and sharing sex videos shot without the knowledge of her partners.

Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon, a former member of the FT Island boy band, were convicted of raping two women in a reunion on two occasions in 2016.

Jung, 30, was also convicted for shooting videos of his sexual intercourse without his partners' knowledge.

The star had then shared eleven times her images, without the consent of these women, through discussion forums.

One of the recipients of these videos was the mega star of K-pop Seungri.

This 28-year-old boy band singer BIGBANG, one of the biggest K-pop bands in the country, is also accused of illegal betting abroad.

Seungri is also at the center of a sex scandal involving, for example, acts of prostitution.

Jung was sentenced to six years in prison and Choi, aged 29 to five, said the central court in Seoul.

"Jung and Choi took part in meeting rapes of victims who were drunk and unable to resist," according to the South Korean agency quoting the judgment.

The defendants had argued that these reports were made.

The two singers saw the victims only as "sexual objects" to exploit, according to the terms of the verdict.

"They must have a social responsibility proportional to their fame and their wealth," he added.

The two men, who were stars in their country, cried at the verdict.

Jung became famous in 2014 after winning third place in a tele-hook. He had then soloed a large number of hits.

When the video scandal erupted in March, he announced that he was pulling out of the show business and had apologized "to all his victims" as well as to his fans.

This scandal is the most resounding phenomenon of illicit sexual videos, called "molka", which hit South Korea.

It consists of men installing spy cameras to film women without their knowledge in public places such as toilets or dressing rooms.

Thousands of women have demonstrated several times against the "molka".

This verdict comes after the death apparently by suicide of the star of the K-Pop, Goo Hara, victim of "revenge porn" of an old boyfriend.
