The protesters continue to oppose the polls organized by the transitional authorities, which they regard as an extension of Abdelaziz Bouteflika's regime, as do the five candidates running for election.

In the streets of the capital, an important security device: police, riot police and water cannon. Journalists present mention several arrests, even before the start of the march in Algiers.

Difficult, for the moment, to obtain a precise figure. Protesters once again called for the release of those arrested in connection with the Hirak. About 140 are currently detained, according to the National Committee for the Release of Prisoners.

The question that now arises is that of voting on December 12. Will Algerians vote? No poll is available to measure voting intentions.

The transitional authorities, they continue to call the Algerians to go massively to the polls.
