"I still do not know why Luis Enrique does not want me anymore", exclaimed Robert Moreno, the former coach of Spain sacked on November 19th after hoisting La Roja towards the Euro-2020, qualified Wednesday of "disloyal" by his former friend and successor.

Luis Enrique took over the Spanish selection that he had left in June due to the illness of one of his daughters. His former deputy Robert Moreno, appointed to succeed him, was thanked in November.

"Today, I still do not know why Luis Enrique does not want me anymore, I do not know if I'll ever know, and yesterday's explanations (Wednesday) did not give me a better understanding." said Moreno, who had summoned the journalists to Barcelona to give his version of the facts after the accusations brought by Luis Enrique.

"They attacked me personally, they labeled me unfairly, with values that are not mine." "It's a very uncomfortable moment for me," he said.

Moreno (42) continued his speech, giving his version of the facts: "A week after the rally (Roja for the last two qualifying matches at the Euro, mid-November), I returned to see him for the support (...) We have always continued to consult him and he told me that he was counting on everyone except me ".

"I wondered what I had done wrong so that he would not want to continue with me.From this point, we learn for the first time that Luis Enrique wants to return (at the head of the selection)", explained the former coach, who did not accept any questions from journalists because he did not want to "blame".

On Wednesday, Luis Enrique brought heavy charges against his former deputy on the Roja, AS Roma (2011-2012), Celta Vigo (2013-2014) and FC Barcelona (2014-2017), the qualifying as "disloyal".

"I understand that having been a coach gave him a lot of hope, I understand that this is the opportunity of his life, that he worked a lot for that ... But I also understand that he is disloyal, with an excessive ambition, and I do not want anyone of this kind in my staff. (...) Me, I would never have done what he did, "threw Wednesday Luis Enrique, without giving more than details.
