During Thursday and Friday, large amounts of snow are expected to fall over eastern Norrland, Svealand and parts of Götaland. Gävleborg, Dalarna, Uppsala, Värmland, Stockholm, Örebro, Östergötland, Västmanland, Södermanland, Jönköping and Västra Götaland have all received a Class 1 warning from SMHI.

With the snow will also slip.

- There are many uncertainties in how much snow will fall and how much will actually remain. But if it gets wet snow that freezes it can get very slippery. When the weather clears up, the temperature drops quickly, says SVT's meteorologist Tora Tomasdottir and continues:

- During the day it can be nice weather and plus degrees but when the sun goes down it can freeze again and then it will be slippery until evening. There are several steps that can make it slippery, it's like a ping-pong slip.

Warning: Stay at home

Tora Tomasdottir points out the importance of driving carefully and planning his drive.

- It will also blow a lot, which means that there can be snowdrifts here and where and in addition it can be poor visibility. There are more things than the roadmap you have to think about.

- Another thing is that it will be even colder so if you plan to go out on the weekend then you should put on properly, the wind will make it feel even colder than the thermometer shows.

At the same time, the Swedish Transport Administration states that measures have been taken.

- We follow the weather trend and have close contacts with SMHI. We are well prepared and our contractor has all the technical equipment in place to be able to take the anti-slip measures needed. We are simply on our toes and in the starting pits, says Eva Renström at the Swedish Transport Administration's press brief to SVT News Uppsala.

Are you waiting for your snooze?

- It is always the most sensitive in the cover when the change comes. We urge all drivers not to stress and have good tires and follow the forecasts. Keep your distance and maybe even stay at home if you can.
