“On December 5-7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov will pay a working visit to the Italian Republic. He will speak at the conference “Mediterranean - Roman Dialogue,” and will also hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of this event, ”said Maria Zakharova, the agency’s official representative.

She recalled that Lavrov’s meeting with his Italian counterpart will be the first after the formation of a new composition of the Italian government.

The meeting will discuss, among other things, the implementation of instructions following the visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Rome in July.

“It is expected that significant attention will be paid to international issues, including the settlement of regional crises in Syria, Libya, Ukraine, the situation in the Latin American direction,” Zakharova said.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the conditions for holding the “Norman summit” on December 9 were ripe, and the new Ukrainian government, led by leader Vladimir Zelensky, managed to resolve the issue of the separation of forces on the contact line in the Donbass and officially fix the Steinmeier formula.
