US President Donald Trump arrived in Afghanistan Thursday evening for an unannounced visit to commemorate Thanksgiving with US soldiers.
Trump spoke to US soldiers after he was given food at Bagram base near Kabul.
The US president met his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani, who came to the military base.
Trump said Washington was continuing to reduce its military forces in Afghanistan.
The US president said the Taliban wanted an agreement and that we believe they wanted a ceasefire.
